Check whether an email actually went
Every email Sign OS sent for you, and what the other end said.
What this is for
"Did the quote go?" has one answer, and it is here. The Sent emails tab of the Email page lists every email Sign OS sent on your behalf — quotes, invoices, dockets, proofs, automations — who it went to, who sent it, and what the receiving mail server said.
What is on this screen
Each part of the screen above, top to bottom, and what changing it affects.
Top of the page
- Connect · Sent emails · Emails to file
- The Email page's tabs. Someone who can only read the log sees just this one.
Sent emails tab
- All · Needs attention · Delivered
- Counters that double as filters. Needs attention is bounces, blocks and failures.
- When · To · Email · Status · Sent by
- Each email with its subject and a link to the document; Sent (handed over, no receipt yet), Delivered (their server accepted it) or a bounce; a person or Automatic.
Before you start
- You need the Email log permission. You don't need the email add-on or a connected inbox to see this tab.
Step by step
- 1
Open Settings → Connections → Email and choose the Sent emails tab.
- 2
Use the counters at the top to narrow it: All, Needs attention, Delivered.
- 3
Read the status. Sent means Sign OS handed it to the mail service and no receipt has come back yet. Delivered means the customer's server accepted it. Needs attention means it bounced or was refused — check the address.
- 4
Each row links to the quote or invoice it was about, and shows whether a person or an automation sent it.
Tips & gotchas
- Nothing can tell you whether an email was read. Delivered is as far as the truth goes.
- If everything is stuck on Sent for days, or bouncing, check Email domain — your DNS records may have been removed.
- This used to be its own Email log page. It is the same list, now a tab on Email.
